Caps Trade Sutherby to Anaheim

The Caps traded little used center Brian Sutherby to the Anaheim Ducks today in exchange for a 2009 second-round pick. Sutherby, 25, played five games for the Caps this season and scored one goal. He had 61 points (26 goals, 35 assists) in 257 career games for the team.

Sutherby (an alternate captain entering the season) had fallen out of the playing rotation of late and seemingly had carved a spot for himself in the press box as a healthy scratch.

The Caps host the Florida Panthers tonight (I'll be there) and Alexander Semin is scheduled to be activated from the injured list.
