One Down: Green Re-Signs
The Caps cleared a HUGE hurdle this morning by keeping Mike Green in town with a four-year, $21 million deal (average of $5.25 million per season). Hopefully, Cristobal Huet is next -- but nothing has broken yet.
The Washington Times' Corey Masisak did some awesome research and reports that Green is the 17th-highest paid defensemen (obviously not including those who haven't signed yet, such as Brian Campell) -- so the Caps did a great job in getting him inked for a reasonable number.
